K:MID Educators at the Heart of the EC Video

1. April 2026

TAP-TS officially finished but its legacy continues. K:MID Educators and Student Teachers are featured at the Heart of the European Commision Video about the European Education Area.

As part of an Event in Dublin of the just finished Teacher Academy Project – Teaching Sustainability (TAP-TS), a compelling video was made by the EC to depict the collaborative spirit of education across Europe. Featuring K:MID & DinaLab team and student teachers of PHWien, the video illustrates how different educational levels can work together to promote shared values and innovation in teaching and learning.

At the heart of the video is the concept of the European Education Area (EEA) – an ambitious initiative that connects EU and non-EU countries with a common goal: ensuring equal access to high-quality education for all. The TAP-TS exemplifies this vision through its cross-institutional and cross-national cooperation, demonstrating how collaboration can bridge gaps between theory and practice.

During the TAP-TS event “Teachers as Experts” in Dublin, Christoph Trost, a now former PHWien student and currently a primary school teacher at Volksschule Prandaugasse, gave an interview about how his participation in TAP-TS transformed his teaching and educational experience. The video also features the hands-on workshop developed as part of TAP-TS and service-learning course at DINALab, and run by Florian Danhel (K:MID), together with teachers Michael Pauer-Nagy (GTVS 10, Grundäckergasse 14), Christoph Trost und Marion Karlsen (VS Prandaugasse 5, 1220 Wien).

The TAP-TS showcases how the principles of the EEA can be translated into real educational practices. The efforts emphasize the importance of partnership, innovation, and inclusivity in building a more connected and resilient educational landscape.

Ultimately, the video serves as both an informative and inspiring resource – offering a clear explanation of the European Education Area while demonstrating its impact through authentic collaboration such as TAP-TS. It is a reminder that the strength of education in Europe lies in working together, sharing knowledge and practices, and creating opportunities for intercultural collaborations.
